Artwork:
A series of photo-realistic drawings of Greenland's Iceberg Landscapes, titled “Chasing the Light”

Location:
Brooklyn, New York, USA

The inspiration for my drawings began in my early childhood when I traveled with my family throughout several of the worlds most remote landscapes, which became the subject of my mother’s fine art photography. I developed an appreciation for the beauty and vastness of the ever-changing sky and sea. I loved watching a far-off storm on the western desert plains; the monsoon rains of southern India; and the cold arctic light illuminating Greenland’s waters. In my work I explore moments of transition, turbulence and tranquility in the landscape and their impact on the viewer. In this process I am reminded of how small we are when confronted with the powerful forces of nature. The act of drawing can be a meditation for me, and my hope is that the viewer can share this tranquil escape when engaging the work.

Oil Paintings of beautiful women adorned with gold and silver leaf.

Location:
Brooklyn, New York, USA

These paintings are embellished with genuine gold and silver leaf, which reflects light in a room differently than paint. Therefore, they can appear contrastive and unique when the point of view or source of light has changed.

Artist:  Lorenzo Villa

Artwork:  Paintings on sheets of transparent plexiglass.

Location:  Italy

Artist Statement:
Paintings on sheets of transparent plexiglass, on both sides.
On the back, with the layering of glazes, to get the bottom of the painting, (words, trees, simple lines or spots in an abstract context – informal ), which eventually will be visible only by looking at the front.
The characters and objects that complement the pictorial message, however, are painted in acrylic on front, thus creating a kind of three-dimensional effect more or less obvious. The whole is given by the detachment that is created between the bottom and foreground elements, thanks to the thickness of the slab, which can vary from 1 to 5 mm.

Artist: Nuala O’Donovan

Artwork: Porcelain Sculptures

Location:  Cork City, Ireland

Artist Statement:
My work combines regular pattern with the characteristics of irregular patterns and forms from nature. Each element of the pattern is individually made, the form is constructed slowly over a period of weeks or months. The finished forms are a result of an intuitive response to the direction that the pattern takes as well as the irregularity in the handmade elements of the pattern.
